With social distancing and appointment only visitations at the library preventing regular summer programming, the library wanted to do something fun as part of their Summer Reading Program.
The answer was the Legendary Myths Scavenger Hunt, a multi-week scavenger hunt based on riddles and moving around the town.
“We’re releasing eight different pieces of riddles that’ll take you to different locations around town. You can piece those together to take you to the location of next week’s riddles,” said Public Services Librarian Alliah Krahn.
Krahn said by the final week, four locations’ riddles will piece together a final riddle. The first to submit that answer will win a $100 gift certificate to an area restaurant. All who correctly answer the final riddle will be entered into a draw for a $50 gift certificate.
“There is no real registration. You just start, and at the very end, if you have that final answer, you let us know, and we’ll pop you in the draw,” Krahn said. “It’s a lot of fun. If you enjoy cryptology, its fun to go place to place to place.”
